Hotmail E-Mail Problem
We've noticed recently that users of e-mail addresses ending in Hotmail.com are experiencing problems receiving messages from us. This started as delays to the messages arriving and now appears to be a complete block on our messages.
We know that the reason for this is that Microsoft who operate Hotmail have classified any messages from @stallfinder.com addresses as Spam and are blocking us. While we take our responsibilities in sending out e-mail very seriously, i.e. we never spam our users with unnecessary e-mail, we do have to send out thousands of e-mails every day with password reminders, listing statuses and event alerts. Unfortunately, we cannot appeal to Microsoft about this problem. That facility just does not exist.
We are going to attempt to fix the issue by paying for a fixed IP address from which to send out our e-mails. We believe this will improve the situation and hopefully prevent it from happening again. This will take a little time and we would ask that you bear with us while we sort it out.
In the meantime, we have the following advice:
1. This only affects e-mails sent from @stallfinder.com to you on your Hotmail account. It doesn't limit the public's ability to contact you via your Hotmail e-mail address on your listing.
2. If you have an alternative e-mail address outside of the Hotmail service, you should consider switching your Stallfinder login details to that address. Just log into your Stallfinder account and click Account Info from the small purple menu bar in your Account Overview screen. You can update your login e-mail address there.
3. If you are having problems logging in because you can't receive a new password to your Hotmail e-mail address, please drop an e-mail to info@stallfinder.com explaining the issue. We can send you the password from our own stallfinder@hotmail.com address and it should get to you OK.
4. If you are a Gold or Platinum Stallholder Listing user and have recently stopped receiving Event Alerts to your Hotmail e-mail address, please check into your account on Stalllfinder on a daily basis to see if new alerts are sitting in your account. As soon as you start receiving the e-mail alerts again in the future, you should be able to stop this procedure.
5. If you have added or updated listings and are waiting for status e-mails to arrive in your Hotmail e-mail inbox, please log into your Stallfinder account. You can check the status of your listings there at any time.
