Description:
One way of reducing plastic use. Beeswax wraps are a reusable, natural, biodegradable and pretty alternative to cling film and poly bags. They can be used to wrap food, in lunch boxes, cover bowls or cover your homemade preserves. They cannot be used in the microvave and are not recommended for raw meat or fish.
Just use the warmth of your hands to mould the wrap around a bowl or a piece of cheese, for instance. Once cooled the wrap stays in shape clinging and keeping your food sealed and fresh.
After use just wash with a mild deterggent and cool tepid water (not hot), rinse and dry. With careful use and resetting regularly (by ironing between two sheets of greaseproof paper) your wraps should last 12 months. They can then be composted if too worn to rewax.
