Description:
Come along to a Health Fair with a difference, on Saturday 27 June, 11am – 3pm at the University of Leicester. Have a great day, enjoy fun activities and learn about the health and safety of the ones you love.
This event will feature something for everyone, including:
Health information and advice - and all stalls are interactive to keep the children entertained
Health checks
DNA and genetics - fun activities for everyone
Face painting
LCFC Roadshow
Teddy bear hospital
Inflatables
Giant games
Eye tests in the Vista Bus
Walk through a giant inflatable colon
Food stalls
and much more.
The Leicestershire Partnership Trust, University Hospitals Leicester, Leicester Council’s Public Health Department and other local and community groups will work together to provide advice, help and information on a range of health concerns, offering advice on issues such as:
Infant Feeding
Mental health and wellbeing (children and adults)
Heart Disease
Diabetes
Kidney disease and lifestyle
Cancer screening campaigns and information
Air Quality
Podiatry
LOROS careers and clinics
And In our special Children and Teen’s area, teenagers can find out about sexual health, stress relief and feel the effect of beer goggles, while children can engage in activities around issues like dental health, mental wellbeing, school readiness, and hand-washing while taking part in fun health-related activities at the Creation Station or get their face painted. Medical students will run a teddy bear’s clinic, and the Attenborough Arts Centre will use work-shops to demonstrate the benefit of art on mental health. You can receive defibrillator training from Leicester University Community First Responders, and CPR training from Heartwize.
Outside the main marquee, our visitors will be entertained by medieval jousting from Enter Edem, bouncy castles, lawn games and live music.
There are picnic areas if you would like to bring your own food, or there will be plenty of refreshments on offer.
All this to a back-drop of other musical performances.
Through engaging in health advice, physical activities, relaxation sessions and informative workshops, our Health Festival aims to educate people to make positive choices around their own health and wellbeing while providing a fun day out for the whole family.
This event will cost £2 per family and then all activities are included in that price.

Parking is available for free in our Welford Road car park, and there are cycle parks under the library concourse.
