COLCHESTER MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL AND OYSTER FAYRE JUNE 6-7th.
Set in 9.5 acres of beautiful parkland in the centre of Colchester and in the shadow of its famous Castle.
We are looking for medieval traders. People with period costume who want to sell goods as hawkers.
Period children's games and toys.
We also have a modern area for crafts and clothing etc.
“A tour de force in medievalism that’s the biggest of its type in Europe” – The Sunday Times.
This Sunday Times comment sums up the wonderful Fayre and Market. Medieval stalls selling all sorts of wonderful historic crafts, entertainers from the period. Children enthralled by the story tellers. Music wafting from every corner.
Mummers, mimers, rymers, beggars, peddlars. Just soak up the atmosphere of the market. Revel in the joys of the fayre. Modern craft area. Wonderful food court with medieval and modern delicacies. Picnic areas. ‘The Pikestaff Inn’ selling real ale, mead, wines and chilled lagers.
